Almaty Backpackers is a nice, cheap place to stay in Almatywith easy transport connections to city centre. In a very expensive city, Almaty Backpackers is a very good budget option.A little bit out of the center of the city but the area is very calm and you can sleep with the window open. In addition, the house and the surroundings are very safe, even at night.

The whole day you won't see any tourists in town but as soon as you come to this hostel you will find loads of people to share your trip with. Decent clean hostel, the owner is really helpful, nothing too much trouble. The owner speaks English. This can be helpful if he is there. He has a second hostel in Bishkek so he is the half time in Bishkek.

The simply furnished rooms come with private or shared bathroom facilities. Some rooms have a fridge and ironing facilities.Individual lockers are provided.

The rooms are large and clean, and the private rooms include a wardrobe, desk and a very decent-sized fridge, really comfy bed. The rooms are good if you don't mind to wake up early because there are no curtains.

Almaty Backpackers has a shared kitchen. Cafes and shops are a 5-minute walk away. There is a cafe opening up sometime soon adjoining the hostel which should provide a great place to chill out and meet other travelers. The kitchen is always full of travelers and there are always people around to share stories.

Not right in the city but walkable and easy bus access to the centre. It offers good facilities for budget travelers - use of a washing machine, free fast Wi Fi throughout the hostel, and a well equipped kitchen. Free private parking is available.
