Felt making
Kneeling near a yurt, a group of natives at regular intervals bow their heads down till they touch the ground. I hurry up tо take a photograph of devout Mussulmans at prayer, as I imagine, but instead see damp felt being subjected to repeated pressure by rolling under the wrists and forearms. In this way the felt is given a second working after passing through a woolly state, when, wrapped in a straw mat, it is dragged about and stamped under foot.
