Georgias Davit Gareja Monastery is in the new National Geographic book Wild Beautiful Places

A complex of 19 medieval cave monasteries known as Georgias Davit Gareja Monastery was listed among top 17 the most beautiful places. Located in the mountains of eastern Georgia in close proximity of the border with Azerbaijan, Davit Gareja is a rock-hewn Georgian Orthodox monastery which consists of hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, refectories and living quarters hollowed out of the rock face.
