Sergei Borodin Museum

Northeast of Tashkent's ring road is the house museum of Sergei Borodin (1902-74), a Tashkent-born writer of fiction. His most famous novels, Dmitriy Donskoi and Stars over Samarkand, brought him Soviet prizes and a degree of international fame. Museum displays chart his life and work through photographs, manuscripts and personal effects, the most important of which are the autographed books given lo him by contemporaries including Maxim Gorky and Boris Pasternak. There is also an extensive numismatic collection in which every coin has been lovingly described.
