Ofarin dance theatre

The “Ofarin” Dance Theatre led by Aliya Shalkharova was established in July 2003 in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. In March 2004 its first coreorgaphic show “Rakkosa” (the Dancer) was performed on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoy Theatre after Alisher Navoi. Within the period of its creative activity “Ofarin” has produced 5 solid programs:
“Rakkosa”, “Dreams come true”, “Dancing is my life”, “Cradle for the Planet” (Nitherlands-Uzbekistan),”Dreams” (Great Britain - Uzbekistan). The duration of each program – 1 hour and 20 minuts (non-stop without enlisting singers and actors beyond dance theatre “Ofarin”).

In 2004 year “Ofarin” became a laureate of international festival “Summer festival” in South Korea, in 2006 a laureat of international festival “Kasalka” in Astana, Kazakhstan. In repertoire of theatre not only the Uzbek and east dances, but also modern dances and dances of nations of the world.

Actors of theatre of dance "Ofarin" have visited with tours Indonesia, Korea, China, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Israel, Lithuania, Latvia, Japan and France, and also almost all CIS countries. In 2004 "Ofarin" represented Uzbekistan at a concert devoted to a summit of heads of the states the participants of ShCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) held in Uzbekistan, in 2005 in Kazakhstan. In 2006 "Ofarin" again participated in concert dedicated to ShCO in China.

Creative team of theatre of dance "Ofarin" consists of 25 people, all of them are graduates of the Uzbek Choreographic School (graduates of 1995-2008). The theatre of dance "Ofarin" is a synthesis of national dancing art of Uzbekistan with modern discoveries in the dance world, as well as folk dances of various nations of the world.

"While traveling around the world we acquaint people with the Uzbek national dances, it seems to me, what exactly folklore dance brightly transfers the spirit of our country, kindness, hospitality and warmth of hearts of Uzbek people. Meanwhile it has become a tradition of our tours to bring homeland the dances of nations of the world in return", - the art director of theatre of dance “Ofarin” Aliya Shalkharova tells.

Aliya graduated from the Uzbek Choreographic School in 1995. The same year she established show ballet "Euphoria". This project has operated for 8 years and was the best on the bandstand of Uzbekistan. But sub-dancing to singers on the grand-scene was " Euphoria’s" highest point. And the desire to create something greater became an impulse for creation of theatre of dance "Ofarin", which is recognized by spectators and professionals today as the best dancing collective of Uzbekistan.

The last years the dance Theatre ”Ofarin” actively co-operates with The Fund of Culture of Uzbekistan Forum.uz. Thanks to support of Fund the collective received an opportunity to present dancing art of Uzbekistan on the best concert platforms of the world.

In 2006 Aliya Shalkharova has been awarded by the government award of Republic of Uzbekistan - the Friendship Award for the merit in development of arts and strengthening of relations between the people.

In 2008 she has graduated with honors from the Uzbek Academy of dance specialized as the Teacher-ballet master. And as following the results of 2008, Aliya has been awarded by the Ministry of culture and sports of Republic Uzbekistan as the Best ballet master of year.
