Arkanchi hotel is unique in terms of its location within the ancient walled city just a minute walk to Kalta minaret. The hotel is built in traditional style and has a certain charm. The hotel is right in front of the old town, relatively close to the heart of Khiva: Ichan Kala, pretty modern and well decorated.It's not a top notch accommodation but definitely not bad,nothing fancy, but quite adequate and good value for money.

Arkanchi is a reasonable hotel in a great location with adequate rooms. The rooms of the hotel are good size, with air conditioning,clean and furniture is new. The decor and rooms are amazing. You’ll have a great time in this warm and cute hotel.In the wooden main building the rooms appear to be all of different sizes.The beds could have beenfirmer; bed mattress is soft so some guests claim that they can feel the springs on their back.The walls are thin and not sound-proof, so sometime one could hear the neighbors and the people talking loud at the reception desk.

The staff is all very attentive and helpful; hotel also provides lunches and evening meals which should be ordered in advance. Breakfast is nice, but inclines to be more of "western" than Uzbek way. In generalthe breakfast is fair comprising of the usual Uzbek breakfast fare of tea, eggs, fruit juice and bread.
