Orient Star Hotel is located in the northern part of Samarkand, along the road that leads to the complex of Islam Al Bukhory. The location is not very central and most likely you would need to have a taxi to get to historical sights, but with taxis quite cheap that should not be of much problem. The most prominent monuments of Samarkand, the Registan Square, Bibi-Khanum mosque and the Bazaar are 30-40 min walk. Unfortunately, nothing interesting is nearby, no decent eateries. Keep in mind that many taxi drivers do not know the hotel, remember to specify that it is near the stadium and take a map or hotel contact details should the driver need instructions.

There is beautiful Oriental style lobby that creates a pleasant atmosphere and is a good place for meeting your friends, reading a newspaper or just passing your time. Free Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool and poolside terrace are featureв in this hotel. There are no elevators but bell boys are eager to help. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby,

There are 35 comfortable rooms including 4 suites. All rooms are equipped with mini-bars as well as a satellite TV, A/C (hot and cold) and telephone. Complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer are provided in the private bathroom. Hotel staff is very friendly and most of them speak decent English, German and French. The room is spotless, a credit to the maids and there is daily good service.

You may enjoy the real hospitality and warmth of the Orient and would be tempted to taste a wide choice of delicious European and Uzbek national meals under the beautifully decorated dome of the restaurant. There is nice garden where guests can have good outdoor rest. There is also a well-stocked bar.

Hotel staff is excellent and always helpful and friendly but barely speak English, so get ready to gesticulate.

Apart from the location, which is not the best this is a nice hotel with good services and helpful staff.
