Samarqand Plaza hotel had been opened as part of recent celebrations to mark Samarkand’s 2750 years anniversary.Hotel is not conveniently located for leisuretourists, it will take at least 25 minute walk at least to get to historical center, but in immediate proximity to both business part of city and some historical sights of the Old City. It will take just a short walk to the Bazaar (15 minutes) and from there another short battle-march to Registan Square, or just 5 minutes in a taxi.

Hotel’s design and architecture as well as its interior meet the up-to-date standards of the hotel industry.The building might be new and looks rather nice from the outside until you stay in this hotel. According to some customers, there is still a long way to go before they can claim to be 4 star hotel and standards of comfort might be considerably improved. Still this is one of the high end hotels for Samarkand standards. In the rest this hotel in colonial style building is rather small with less than 2 dozen of good quality rooms.

18 spacious and comfortable rooms are beautifully furnished providing satellite TV, internal and IDD phone, WI-FI internet, mini-bar, air-condition and well-equipped bathrooms. A special offer for VIP’s is luxurious rooms adorned in Spanish style, with a separate living room and bathroomboasting of special high-pressure showers.Rooms are of generous size, high ceiling, light and rather spacious.Mini bar though is completely empty and serves as fridge mainly, also no kettle to make your own tea/coffee in the room.Roomsare clinically clean and very quiet, so you are guaranteed to have a good night sleep if you can stand the surprisingly hard mattress, but this is a matter of taste!

Breakfast is very good, in the rest the eating is a bit of a problem: the only "recommended" restaurant is in 20 minute taxi ride away (not much fun at night), and not really worth it when you get there.Restaurant is decorated in classical style, where guests feel the atmosphere of romantic and good mood. It is possible to taste the national meals and Europe cuisine at the restaurant. Enjoying the cozy atmosphere of bar and restaurants, will be offered a wide variety of European meals and Uzbek cuisine but food isn’t delicious. The hotel staff is very helpful and givesyou good recommendations on where to eat.
