Hayot hotel opened in August 2011 and is located in Kuyluk region of Tashkent city. These are outskirts at the east end of Tashkent city and the location would suit those who prefer to escape from the maddening rhythm of the large city.
The hotel would be of less interest to tourists exploring Tashkent due to its distant location. One would need to take taxi or public transport to get to city centre which is 8 km away. The hotel is located 2 minute drive from Kuyluk bazaar which is popular among locals and is famous as one of the cheapest markets in Tashkent. Therefore many people from all around Tashkent come there for shopping. Hayot hotel is located just 10 minute drive from Tashkent International Airport and 20 minutes from Railway Station. Unfortunately there is no Metro station nearby. The hotel is managed by local people. Hotel's staff speaks fluent Russian and Uzbek languages, but you might experience problem finding English speaking person. Generally location should not be a problem in Tashkent where transport is cheap and by taxi you can reach the city centre in few minutes and for little money $3/4 USD. Small grocery store 5 minute walk leaving right. Free shuttle service to/from airport is provided, just make sure to confirm your arrival/departure the day before.
Three floor building has 31 rooms, including 4 single rooms, 22 double rooms, 4 luxury rooms and 1 VIP apartment. Hotel's decor is kitsch and leaves a mixture of feelings: bursting with marble and fake Greek columns and oversized sofas.
Rooms are very big and clean. Rooms at the hotel are tastefully decorated and equipped with modern amenities to make the stay at the hotel a pleasurable experience. The rooms of the hotel are spacious, well equipped with comfortable furniture and bathrooms and are well maintained to provide ultimate comfort to the guests. There is individual air conditioning system in all rooms. All rooms are equipped with LCD TVs with more than 200 channels. There are 2 telephones in each room as well as tea&coffee facilities. When booking ask for rooms at the opposite end to the social rooms to avoid noisy wedding reception during the wedding season that can keep you awake until midnight. Smell of tobacco can be felt even in non-smoking rooms, but this is a general problem in Uzbekistan hotels. Bathrooms are impeccably clean and come with courtesy kit and hairdryer.
They have a gym but strangely enough it is not free even for the guests with one having to pay $15 per hour especially given it is a very small and basic gym with one treadmill and one bike. Same goes for the use of swimming pool.
Hayot hotel has 2 restaurants. One of the restaurants is large enough to accommodate up to 500 persons at a time. The dining facilities provided at the Hayot hotel in Tashkent offers Uzbek and International cuisine option to its guests. Hayot hotel also has a bar which can host around 70 guests.
Breakfast is served in a charmless underground room and is rather unremarkable (eggs, toast, sausages, samosa, fruits, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet things, etc.) though will keep you going for the whole day. Coffee is only instant, no omelettes or other hot food made on site. Food in the restaurant is decent but nothing exceptional. Prices are reasonable.
The staff is helpful and friendly but as mentioned above just a few speak decent English.
Nice hotel a bit further away from central area of Tashkent (but given the low cost of taxi fares this drawback is not so important). Large and clean rooms. Acceptable rates. Good value for money.
