Museum of Folk Art

A wide range of embroidery, lace, silver jewellery, stone carving, wood carving, carpets, ornamental metalwork and ceramics. There are numbers of salt containers in the shape of women, a traditional Armenian symbol of the woman as being the essence of the home. Other interesting exhibits include shawls from the Lake Van area (now in Turkey) which are similar in style to those from the Scottish Shetland Isles. The museum is particularly strong on wood carving
