Yes, I’m also checking plane tickets, but flying directly to Dushanbe turns out to be quite expensive. Going via Tashkent is definitely cheaper, of course.

It’s been mentioned here before. In winter it can be more expensive. You’ll also have to bargain on the spot as best you can. To Oybek it might be $15–20 per seat in a shared taxi (you’re not traveling alone). They say prices may be higher now. From Oybek to Dushanbe, some people managed to get there for 250 somoni as passengers, others paid more or less.
By the way, in winter it’s not guaranteed you’ll make it by car at all. It might be more reliable to look at flights straight to Dushanbe. In the mountains, who knows what the snowfall will be like — the road might be closed.

Taxi is the simplest option. You go to the Oybek border crossing, cross on foot, then take a taxi either straight to Dushanbe or to Khujand first, and from there continue to Dushanbe.
You can try to find a taxi all the way through, but there’s no guarantee you’ll pass the border quickly. Crossing on foot is easier.
In Tashkent, Yandex Taxi works; in Tajikistan, Maxim is the best option, Anzor also exists, but the cars are generally pretty worn out.

@zaurka1977 Ездил пару лет назад на автобусе с базара Куйлюк тысяч за 10-15 сумов вроде. Автобус шел в Бекобод, высадил на повороте на погранпереход, там пройти было метров 300. Сейчас снова собираюсь ехать из Ташкента в Душанбе, спрашивал в ташкентском чате, мне посоветовали автобус до Бекобода с Food city, цена 25 К сум. Думаю это проще, так как на Куйлюке было сложно искать автобус и отбиваться от таксистов. На таджикской стороне ехал сначала на общем такси за 10-15 сомони до Бустона, оттуда где то за 10 сомони на маршрутке до Худжанда. Из Худжанда был раньше рано утром автобус в Душанбе, где то за 80 сомони, не знаю ходит ли сейчас, его периодически отменяют вроде....

I'm not sure if there’s a direct bus — I don't think there is — but you can get from the airport to Kuylyuk Bazaar (there, under the bridge, taxi drivers will take you to the Oybek border for 80,000 Uzbek soms), and from there it's about 350 Tajik somoni by taxi to Dushanbe, if I’m not mistaken. Alternatively, you could negotiate a ride straight from the airport to the Oybek border, especially since it’ll be getting quite late in the evening.

From Tashkent Airport to Kuylyuk, bus number 12 runs that route. Once you exit the airport, there’s a stop right outside. The fare with a transport card is 1,700 UZS.

There’s also a scheduled bus from Tashkent to Oybek — bus number 251 — which departs from near the Food City market (ticket price is 20,000 UZS), but I can’t say for sure what time the last one leaves. It goes all the way to the border, and from there you just need to walk a short distance to the checkpoint. On the Tajik side, you can catch a shared taxi directly to Dushanbe.

Another option is to take the Tashkent–Khujand bus from the Tashkent bus terminal (the fare is around 100 somoni). It usually departs at 4:00 PM, unless the schedule has changed. And from Khujand, it’s not hard to get to Dushanbe.

Good day!
Maybe someone knows what the best, fastest way to go from Tashkent to Dushanbe by bus, minibus, shared taxi?

I am planning, hopefully to arrive to Tashkent Airport on a Sunday in July, (evening about 9 pm).
I would like to start the trip right away, if possible, to
reach Dushanbe the next day (Monday) not too late.

What is the most "straight" way from north to south?

Also which borders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are open to foreign citizens.
