Day 1 Lagodekhi - Telavi - Signagi
Arrive to Geogia - Azerbaijan border between Balakan and Lagodekhi at 10:00 am and change of transport. After border formalities meet with the guide and driver. Drive to Telavi - center of Kakheti province. Visit to Tsinandali estate and first winery founded by one of the famous poets and public figures Alexander Chavchavadze in 19th century. Explore the area - garden, museum and wine cellar where oldest bottle of winery dates back to 1814. Continue to Telavi, visit to Alaverdi cathedral of 11th century, Ikalto former academy and monastery complex dated 12th century. *Optional lunch in local restaurant. Drive to Sighnaghi - royal town surrounded by the defiance wall with 23 towers built by the king Erekle II in 18th century. The town had many gates through which Georgia was connected to Europe and Asia by various trade routes. Welcome dinner in restaurant. Overnight in hotel. (-/-/D)
Day 2 Signagi - Bodbe - Tbilisi
After breakfast stroll through tiny and cozy streets of Signagi and enjoy amazing view of Alazani Valley. Visit to local winery "Pheasant's Tears" and taste Georgian traditional Qvevri Wine. Drive to Bodbe Nunnery of 9th century. *Optional lunch in local restaurant. Tour continues to Tbilisi - capital of Georgia since 5th century. Brief sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. Walk through old city. Visit to Metekhi church dated 13th century, Sulfur Bathes, Sioni cathedral initially built in 7th century. Dinner in Georgian city restaurant. Overnight in hotel. (B/-/D)
Day 3 Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Gori - Kutaisi
Drive to Mtskheta - old capital of Kartli-Iberia kingdom known as a political and cultural center from 3rd century BC. Drive up to Jvari monastery dated 6th century distinguished with harmonious proportions and representing the high achievements of early Georgian Medieval architecture. Visit to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral - 11th century architectural monument. Drive to Inner Kartli province to the town of Gori - famous for being a birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Visit to Stalin's museum and house of birth. *Optional lunch in local restaurant. Excursion to Uplistsikhe rock town known from 1st millennium BC - a complex of rock cut halls, temples, passage streets, wine pressers, tunnels where Hellenistic period is mixed together with early Christian Age, upper and lower class hierarchy dwellings. Drive to Kutaisi - former capital of western Georgia. Pass Likhi range that divides eastern and western parts of Georgia. Evening arrival to Kutaisi. Dinner and overnight in local guesthouse. (B/-/D)
Day 4 Kutaisi - Bakuriani
Morning drive to Gelati academy and monastery complex dated 12th century important for its murals and mosaic dated from 12th up to 17th centuries, Motsameta church dated 13th century. Drive to Samtskhe - Javakheti province to Bakuriani Mountain resort. *Optional lunch in local restaurant. Evening arrival to Bakuriani. Dinner and overnight in hotel. (B/-/D)
Day 5 Bakuriani - Vardzia - Tbilisi
After breakfast drive to Vardzia cave city of 12th century nearby Turkey border. Explore the site. *Optional lunch in local family run restaurant. Drive back to Bakuriani. En-route visit to Khertvisi fortress of 10th century. Return back to Tbilisi. Dinner in restaurant. Overnight in hotel. (B/-/D)
Day 6 Tbilisi - Ananuri - Kazbegi - Tbilisi
Drive to north along the Georgian Military Highway to Mtiuleti and Khevi provinces. This ancient road is still important as a main link connecting all south Caucasus countries with Russia. Visit to Ananuri architectural complex dated 16th-17th centuries. Continue to Kazbegi. Walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church dated 14th century located at 2180 m from where you can enjoy amazing view of Mt. Kazbeg. *Optional lunch at local restaurant. Drive back to Tbilisi. (B/-/D)
Day 7 Tbilisi Sightseeing Tour
Sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. Known as a capital of Georgia from 5th century the city is extraordinary for its turbulent history, elegant and remarkable architecture, destroyed and restored through centuries but keeping entire style of Georgian orthodox religion and traditions. Walk through old city. Visit to Metekhi church dated 13th century, Sulfur Bathes, Narikala fortress of 4th century, Sioni cathedral initially built in 7th century, Anchiskhati basilica dated 6th century. *Optional lunch in city restaurant. Visit to Tbilisi National Museum. Evening walk along Rustaveli Avenue. Overnight in hotel. (B/-/D)
Day 8 Departure
Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport 2 hours before departure flight.
