Uzbekistan has simplified the registration process for mobile phones brought into the country from abroad: IMEI registration can now be completed online after arrival, without having to wait in line. All you need is a QR code.

After landing, there is no longer any need to stand in line at customs. Phone registration in the UzIMEI system can now be completed in just two minutes using a QR code or the ybdweb.customs.uz website. No more waiting in line after a long and tiring flight.

To register your phone, you will only need your passport details, the device's IMEI number, and identity verification through Face ID.

Save the QR code to your phone so that you won't have to look for banners in the airport terminal.

@rustam-2026 Нет, я просто зарегистрировала телефон в аэропорту по моему следующему приезду. Я впервые сталкивалась с такой ситуацией (необходимость регистрации телефона в другой стране), потому поначалу подумала, что просто IMEI регистрации будет достаточно. Но регистрация IMEI, по факту, оказывается лишь вторым этапом после таможенной регистрации телефона. Если пропустить первый этап, то тогда придется оплачивать таможенный сбор... Поэтому, в моем случае было просто легче не забыть задекларировать телефон в свой очередной приезд.

В вашем случае, если вы не оплатите, то через 60 дней просто узбекская симка в данном IMEI слоте перестанет работать. Если у вас есть два слота для сим карт, переставьте сим-карту туда и вы получите очередные 60 дней. Не уверена, но если еще и Esim подключить, то может очередные 60 дней получите, но это надо уточнять. За это время, если будете выезжать за пределы страны, то по приезду просто не забудьте задекларировать его... Наверное как то так.

I arranged everything right after landing in Tashkent. I went straight to the Beeline counter — they issued me a non-tourist SIM card with roaming and registered the IMEI on the spot.
The staff register the phone and give you a QR code. With this QR code, you need to go to the declaration desk (the far-right window), where they scan it. After that, they tell you to go to the window on the left, but in fact you need to return to the Beeline counter so they can complete the registration. And that’s it — no need to run around anywhere else.

@nadezhda Yes, but only after IMEI registration. First you need to declare the phone at the border, and after that you’ll be able to register the IMEI.
Each SIM slot has its own IMEI. If both are blocked and you need both, then you have to register two IMEIs.

Tendrás que registrar el IMEI para que el teléfono (dispositivo) pueda funcionar con una tarjeta SIM local. Incluso si después cambias de SIM, el teléfono seguirá funcionando. Pero tienes razón en que la SIM turística tiene un período limitado de validez. No estoy seguro exactamente cuánto tiempo, quizá sean unos 2 meses.

Una vez que empieces a vivir en Uzbekistán ya no como turista, deberás registrarte en tu lugar de residencia y, con base en ese registro, podrás adquirir una tarifa no turística con cualquier operador móvil local.

En resumen, registra el IMEI al llegar; es importante para que tu teléfono pueda seguir funcionando en Uzbekistán con una SIM uzbeka en el futuro.

Hola, queria saber si hay que registar el IMEI y la SIM (si es turistica, de las que duran un mes) por separado o una vez registrado el IMEI la SIM pasa a ser permanente ¿? Gracias :-) (planeo vivir acá, hice lo del IMEI pero me dijeron que la SIM era turstica, solo duraria un mes...)

@jahongirpulatov, I would like to get some more clarifications a few points regarding mobile phone declaration.

My son entered Uzbekistan on a student visa on 8 November 2025. At that time, he did not declare his personal mobile phone (approx. USD 500 value). He started using a local SIM card in this phone from 1 December 2025, and the SIM service is expected to stop on 30 January 2026. I have advised him to purchase a local phone and use a local SIM for the time being instead of his phone.

My question is: since he will travel outside Uzbekistan for about 10 days in March 2026 for Eid vacation, can he declare his personal phone (which was used with a local SIM for around 50–55 days) upon his return at Tashkent Airport, without facing any issue or risk of blacklisting?

I would appreciate your guidance on this matter.
