Astana hotel is located km from Almaty city centre.The famous city landmark - Almaty Towers are 10-minute drive from the hotel. Location is OK if you don't mind using transport like taxi, bus or tramthat can be easily taken from the hotel gates. Obviously, there could be some better options one can look for in terms of location but transport connection is generally good.Keep in mind that this hotel does not accepts credit cards,payments are available in cash only.

The air-conditioned rooms of this hotel are decorated in classic style. Each room offers a TV, refrigerator and a private bathroom.This hotel has an adequate price policy and would suit for travelers on a budget. Cleaning level though requires some improvement. Proper hovering will not do any harm as well as washing the curtains that seem to be never washed since hotel construction. You have a one towel for stay. Beds are not comfortable.

The hotel's restaurant serves mainly European cuisine, and a variety of drinks are offered at the bar.Drinking water is a big problem as they don't serve plain water for drinking and you need to bring it from outside.

This hotel offers a fitness centre and a sauna. Free but very unreliable Wi-Fi and a 24-hour front desk are featured at Astana Hotel.
Breakfast is basic and is the same every day: porridge, cheese, bread, sometimes: fruit, ham, egg. There is only hot drink (coffee, tea) and on request glass of water.

Staff is helpful, but language is a major problem, only one receptionist could speak some English;you can translate the word online and then tell them for conversation! Alternatively get ready to gesticulate.

Overall this is a decent budget place to stay in Almaty!Rather hostel that a hotel but for the price you pay one could not expect more. Apartments are more expensive but they are larger and much better furnished.
