Hostel City is located in the downtown just 5 minutes' walk from the Republic Square in Almaty city. Hostel City features free Wi-Fi and a shared fully equipped kitchen. The central Abay Street is located 300 meters away. Hostel City provides quick access to many Almaty attractionsюThere is a washing machine the use of which is free.

With the help of a detailed map people can find the big building easily. But, there is no signpost at all and there are many locked entrances. Maybe it will get some time to find the right entrance by asking the couple just entering it. Moreover, even if you know the entrance, you don't know the code to ring the hostel. Manager of the hotel should put a sign on the road as it can take so long time to find the place.

Rooms at the hostel are decorated in a simple style and include wooden furnishings. Shared bathrooms come with a shower, but not very clean. Meals can be cooked in the shared fully equipped kitchen, which has a stove, fridge and microwave. A lot of cafes and bars can be found within a 5-minute walk of City Hostel.

Hostel is not so clean and staff cannot speak English and no English TV channel. Guests who have early check-in can wake you up early in the morning and you have to open the door for other guest because the workers are not in the hostel during 24 hour.

The location is good but the general management of the hotel can significantly improve the hostel which can be a good place.
