Clothing

Normal cool clothing is advised with sun hat and sunglasses. In the mountains bring a light sweater for the evenings. For walkers and trekkers bring normal walking gear, with stout walking boots. Paths are often steep and precipitous, and Nordic walking poles can aid balance and help take the strain. For trekking most companies ask you to bring a sleeping bag. Basic walking and camping equipment can be hired in Khorog and Penjikent.
