It is not far from the site of Nisa, the ancient capital of the Parthian Empire. Within this tour you will visit Ten Years of Independence ParkTurkmenbashy Square with marble-faced Ruhyyet Palaceand gold-domed Turkmenbashy Palace. The statue in front of Turkmenistan's Justice Ministry and Supreme Court building is an image of Niyazov's mother, Gurbansoltan Eje, holding the scales of justice in her right hand. You will be also taken to grandious Square of Revival (Galkynysh) - a new administrative, business and cultural center of Ashgabat. Have a stroll along Ylham (Inspiration) Park. Lunch. Transfer to railway station. Departure to Atamyrat town. Overnight in a train.

Kugitang (Kugitang means, roughly, 'Difficult-to-Cross Mountains') is the most impressive and pristine of Turkmenistan’s nature reserves. Set up in 1986 to protect the Kugitang mountain range and its unique ecosystem. Its extent includes the country’s highest peak, Airybaba (3137m), several huge canyons, rich forests, mountain streams, caves and the unique Dinosaur Plateau

Day 4    Koytendag Natural Reserve

Breakfast and excursion to the mountains, visit to Kyrk Gyz (Forty Girl) Cave, located in a spectacular canyon and containing an unmarked tomb. Then proceed to Dinosaur Plateau where you will find the prints left during the Jurassic period by a species called Megalosauripus. There are more than 400 prints visible on a steep incline of limestone, the largest of which has a diameter of 80cm. Around Kugitang, more than 2500 prints have been found. Also check Umbar-Dere waterfall and have a lunch here. Return to camp. Overnight.

Day 5    Koytendag Natural Reserve

Breakfast. Excusrion to the underground town and Onyx gallery of Karlyuk Caves. Visiting one of the Karlyuk Caves is an incredible experience. The limestone caves are considered the most extensive network of caves in Central Asia. They have been known since ancient times, having been mentioned even in Greek texts. Lunch. On the way visit Gaynar Baba hydrogen-sulfide-rich spring located уast of Karlyuk, on the southern edge of the Kugitang range and quite popular as a local bathing place. Overnight.

Day 6    Koytendag Natural Reserve - Turkmenabat - Ashgabat

Breakfast. Transfer to Turkmenabat and take a flight to Ashgabat. Transfer to hotel. Free time. Overnight

Day 7    Ashgabat - Darwaza - Ashgabat

Breakfast. Free time. After lunch we will drive 250km through one of the biggest sand deserts in the wold - Karakum desert to visit the famous Darwaza Gas Crater, dubbedby locals as "The Door to Hell". The Derweze area is rich in natural gas. While drilling in 1971, Soviet geologists tapped into a cavern filled with natural gas. The ground beneath the drilling rig collapsed, leaving a large hole with a diameter of 70 metres. To avoid poisonous gas discharge, it was decided the best solution was to burn it off. Geologists had hoped the fire would use all the fuel in a matter of days, but the gas is still burning today. We will have a picnic there and then drive back to Ashgabat. Overnight in hotel.
