Retro Automobile Museum

In 2019, Shymkent welcomed its Retro Automobile Museum, showcasing a collection of 26 classic cars from the 1920s through the 1980s. The museum’s layout offers a unique journey through automotive history: the first floor is dedicated to American classics, while the second floor highlights Soviet-era vehicles like the iconic Pobedas, Moskviches, and Zhigulis. Among the rare and notable models on display are luxury Packards, a 1927 Ford Model A, a 1934 Ford Tudor Sedan, several Volgas of various configurations, and a 1943 UAZ, among others.

Visitors can delve into the historical and technical aspects of each car, with opportunities to photograph themselves in the driver’s seat for an immersive experience. Every model here is instantly recognizable and represents the spirit of its era. For adults, the museum provides a nostalgic trip down memory lane, while children can marvel at these once-iconic cars that have long disappeared from the roads. Many of the cars have been carefully preserved in their original state, and several are still functional. Occasionally, the museum even offers select models for sale.
