The Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Shymkent is just under forty years old, having been constructed towards the end of the 1980s. The building is clad in light-colored brick, with golden domes crowning the church—one large central dome and four smaller ones. The cathedral’s elegance is enhanced by its arched windows and doors, which add a sense of lightness and grace. Inside, the walls are adorned with images of saints and scenes from the Bible, creating an atmosphere of divine serenity. The cathedral complex also houses a bell tower and a Sunday school.
