Situated just 500 meters from the Khoja Yakub Mosque, the Rohat Teahouse stands as an unofficial symbol of Dushanbe, bustling with life and activity. This vibrant gathering spot has been a cornerstone of the city’s social scene since its opening on June 22, 1958.
The teahouse was designed by Russian architect K.N. Terletsky and built by an international team of skilled artisans. The influence of masterful Tajik craftsmen is evident throughout the structure, with their expertise and deep knowledge of national art beautifully reflected in the design. The building itself is a two-story marvel, adorned with intricate national ornaments that add to its charm and allure.
Stepping into the Rohat Teahouse is like entering a world of refined oriental elegance. The tall columns, decorative moldings, and exquisitely painted walls and ceilings create an atmosphere of grandeur. With multiple halls and a central terrace, the teahouse can comfortably accommodate up to 1,000 guests at a time.
