Route in brief:

Bishkek - Ala Archa - Burana - Chon Kemin - Issyk Kul Lake northern shore - Grigorievskoye - Karakol - Jeti Oguz - Issyk Kul Lake southern shore - Bokonbaevo - Bishkek

Discover the wild beauty, ancient history, and warm nomadic hospitality of Kyrgyzstan on this immersive 7-day journey through its most iconic landscapes. From the lively streets of Bishkek to the alpine serenity of Issyk-Kul Lake, this tour offers a perfect balance of culture, nature, and authentic local experiences.

Your adventure begins in Bishkek, the green and spacious capital of Kyrgyzstan, where Soviet-era landmarks blend seamlessly with wide boulevards and leafy parks. With a guided city tour, you’ll explore the heart of the country before heading into the mountains that define its soul.

Just outside the city lies Ala Archa National Park, once reserved exclusively for Soviet elites. Here, dramatic gorges, snow-capped peaks of the Tien Shan, and fresh mountain air set the tone for the journey ahead. Along the ancient Silk Road route, you’ll visit the 11th-century Burana Tower, climb its historic minaret, and walk among mysterious balbal stone warriors that guard the memories of ancient nomads.

In Chon Kemin Gorge, you’ll experience Kyrgyzstan the traditional way—on horseback. Riding through mountain forests and high alpine trails, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views before continuing toward Issyk-Kul Lake, the legendary “Pearl of Central Asia.” This vast alpine lake, revered as sacred for centuries, enchants with its crystal waters, healing climate, and dramatic mountain backdrop.

Traveling along Issyk-Kul’s shores, you’ll explore scenic gorges, ancient petroglyphs, and the charming town of Karakol, known for its unique Dungan Mosque and wooden Orthodox church. On the southern shore, red sandstone cliffs of Jeti-Oguz and the romantic Broken Heart Mountain offer unforgettable photo opportunities.

A highlight of the journey is meeting a traditional eagle hunter in Bokonbaevo, where you’ll witness one of Central Asia’s most impressive living traditions. The tour concludes back in Bishkek with time to explore vibrant bazaars and collect handcrafted souvenirs—perfect memories of a land where nature, history, and nomadic spirit remain deeply alive.
