Route in brief:

Bishkek – Burana Tower – Don-Aryk – Bishkek

Embark on an unforgettable cultural adventure with our One-Day Burana Tower & Kyrgyz Yurts Masterclass! This immersive experience is designed for those eager to dive deep into the rich history and vibrant traditions of Kyrgyzstan, all while enjoying the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Bishkek.

Your day begins at 9:00 AM with a scenic drive to the historical site of Burana Tower. Once a majestic symbol of the ancient Karakhanid town of Balasagun, this towering minaret stands as a testament to the region’s storied past. As you explore the ruins, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating tales of the Silk Road and the significance of this once-thriving hub.

Next, we will journey to the charming village of Don-Aryk, where you’ll be warmly welcomed into the home of a local Kyrgyz family for a delicious traditional lunch. Savor authentic flavors as you engage in heartfelt conversations, immersing yourself in the warm hospitality that Kyrgyz culture is known for.

After lunch, prepare for a unique hands-on experience as you witness a captivating demonstration of yurt installation. The yurt, a symbol of nomadic life, is not just a dwelling but a piece of art reflecting the Kyrgyz way of life. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in the installation process and learn about the cultural significance of each component from a local expert.

Conclude your tour with a transfer back to Bishkek, filled with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for Kyrgyz culture. Join us for this extraordinary journey and uncover the essence of Kyrgyzstan!

Building of a yurt in stages, it takes anything from 2 hours to half a day. On the top, sticks are put into holes on the tunduk. On the bottom, they are tied with ropes to the base. Sometimes the yurts are very basic and have grass floors and minimal decoration and no power, sometimes they are fully carpeted and ornate and have generator electricity.
