Itinerary

Day 1Bishkek to Issyk-Kul

Begin your adventure in the morning as you set off from Bishkek, traveling towards the stunning Issyk-Kul Lake, located approximately 260 kilometers away. On your route, you’ll make a noteworthy stop at the Burana Tower, an impressive historical site that marks the original location of the ancient Karakhanid city of Balasagun. This minaret, standing tall amidst the picturesque landscape, serves as a reminder of the region’s rich history along the Silk Road.

After exploring the tower, continue your journey to Issyk-Kul. Upon your arrival, you will check in to a comfortable hotel situated on the serene north shore of the lake. Take some time to relax and unwind while enjoying the scenic views of the water and surrounding mountains. In the evening, indulge in a delicious dinner, savoring local cuisine and preparing for the adventures that lie ahead.

Day 2Issyk-Kul to Cholpon-Ata to Naryn

After breakfast, your day begins with a drive to Cholpon-Ata, where you will explore an open-air museum showcasing ancient petroglyphs. These fascinating stone carvings, which date back to between 500 BC and 100 AD, depict various animals such as ibexes, horses, and snow leopards, along with scenes of hunting and sacrificial rituals. This site offers an incredible insight into the rich history and culture of the region.

Following your visit to the petroglyphs, enjoy a hearty lunch in the charming village of Kochkor. Here, you will have a unique opportunity to learn about the traditional craft of felt carpet making. Day 3Naryn to Tash-Rabat

On the third day, you will depart in the morning for Tash-Rabat, located 115 kilometers from Naryn. As you explore the well-preserved stone structure, you’ll learn about its historical significance as a shelter for travelers and traders traversing these rugged landscapes.

After a delicious lunch, you have the option to partake in a horseback riding excursion around Tash-Rabat, allowing you to soak in the stunning natural scenery while experiencing the traditional mode of transport used by Kyrgyz nomads. Later, return to your yurt for a cozy dinner, enjoying the authentic ambiance of this traditional Kyrgyz dwelling.

Day 4: Tash-Rabat to Torugart

On the final day of your expedition, rise early for breakfast before embarking on the journey to the Torugart border, approximately 95 kilometers away. As you navigate the winding roads, take in the breathtaking vistas of the At Bashi mountain range. The landscape will transform as you ascend towards the Torugart Pass, which stands at an impressive altitude of 3,752 meters above sea level.

Upon reaching the border, you will complete the necessary procedures before crossing into China, where you will meet with your local tour company. This concluding leg of the journey promises to leave you with lasting memories of Kyrgyzstan’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
