Itinerary

Day 1Naryn – Tash-Rabat

Begin your journey in the town of Naryn, where you’ll meet your guide and set off on a scenic drive to the historical site of Tash Rabat, located 115 kilometers away. The road to Tash Rabat takes you through picturesque valleys and rugged landscapes, slowly revealing the beauty of the surrounding mountains as you head deeper into Kyrgyzstan’s remote countryside.

Tash Rabat is a remarkably well-preserved 11th-century caravanserai, originally serving as a fortress and a rest stop for merchants and travelers along the ancient Silk Road. Set at an altitude of around 3,200 meters, this stone-built monument stands as a testament to the region’s rich history. Upon arrival, you will have the chance to explore this unique site, wandering through the carefully restored rooms and courtyards that once sheltered Silk Road traders.

After touring Tash Rabat, you’ll enjoy a traditional Kyrgyz lunch in the peaceful surroundings of the valley. For those seeking a bit more adventure, horseback riding through the alpine meadows is available, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks and giving you a taste of the nomadic life.

As evening approaches, settle in for a night of authentic Kyrgyz hospitality. You’ll spend the night in a traditional yurt, the portable dwellings of the nomadic people. Day 2Tash Rabat – Torugart Pass

Rise early for an exciting drive to the Torugart Pass, located 95 kilometers from Tash Rabat. The journey takes you through stunning alpine scenery as the road winds its way along the southern tip of the At-Bashi mountain range. Along the way, you’ll pass through valleys and see sweeping views of snow-capped peaks in every direction. The road ascends steadily as you make your way toward the Torugart Pass, which reaches an altitude of 3,752 meters, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

As you approach the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, the road climbs to the Torugart Pass, an important historical crossing point on the ancient Silk Road. Upon reaching the border, you will go through the necessary customs procedures before crossing into China. There, you will be met by a Chinese tour company that will take over the arrangements for the next leg of your journey.
