Route in brief:

Tbilisi – Tsalka Canyon – Tbilisi

Discover one of Georgia’s most breathtaking natural wonders on this One-Day Tour to Tsalka Canyon. Just a couple of hours from Tbilisi, the spectacular canyon—also known as Dashbashi—offers lush landscapes, cascading waterfalls, hidden caves, and dramatic cliffs. A true gem of the Kvemo Kartli region, this gorge remains largely off the beaten path, making it perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Walk across the stunning 180-meter-high glass bridge, experience the panoramic views from its diamond-shaped platform, and hike down to the mesmerizing “Weeping Wall” waterfall. Continue your day exploring pristine mountain lakes and visiting the charming Poka Nunnery, where local nuns craft artisanal chocolates, cheeses, and other handmade delights. This immersive escape into Georgia’s untouched nature and culture promises a rejuvenating and unforgettable experience.

09:00 – Departure from Tbilisi
Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Tbilisi. From there, we begin our scenic drive westward towards Tsalka Canyon, located about 100 kilometers from the capital. As we leave the city behind, enjoy changing landscapes—from urban views to tranquil fields and distant mountains.

11:00 – Arrival at Tsalka Canyon & Glass Bridge Walk
We arrive at Dashbashi (Tsalka) Canyon, a remarkable natural wonder carved into volcanic rock. The highlight here is the glass suspension bridge, opened in 2022. Suspended 180 meters above the canyon floor, this bridge offers unparalleled views and a thrilling walk. Pause at the diamond-shaped glass observation deck in the center of the bridge for 360-degree vistas over the lush gorge and surrounding cliffs.

12:00 – Hike to “Weeping Wall” Waterfall
After enjoying the views from above, begin a descent along a well-maintained concrete trail into the canyon. The 1.5-kilometer route winds down through scenic slopes and brings you to the “Weeping Wall”—a stunning waterfall that cascades down moss-covered rocks like tears, creating a surreal and peaceful atmosphere. Spend time admiring the waterfall, snapping photos, and soaking in the serenity. The round-trip hike takes around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace.

14:00 – Drive to Paravani and Tsalka Lakes
Back in the car, we’ll continue our journey deeper into the highlands. The drive takes us past Tsalka Lake, nestled among the green hills, and on to Lake Paravani, the highest lake in Georgia. The windswept Samtskhe plains surrounding the lake are home to hardy locals known for their warmth and hospitality.

15:00 – Visit to Poka Nunnery
Our next stop is the Poka Nunnery, a spiritual and cultural hub with deep historical roots—Saint Nino, Georgia’s patron saint, is said to have spent a night here. The nuns at the monastery craft an array of handmade products, including chocolate, cheese, jams, liqueurs, honey, bread, and candles. This is an ideal spot to purchase unique souvenirs and support the local community.

16:30 – Return Journey to Tbilisi
We begin our return drive to Tbilisi, retracing our route along Lake Paravani. Feel free to ask your guide to stop for photos—this region is one of Georgia’s most photogenic!

18:30 – Drop-off at your hotel
Arrive back in Tbilisi and enjoy a relaxing evening with memories of a remarkable day in Georgia’s untouched wilderness.
