Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Complex

The “Silk Road Samarkand” Tourist Complex, introduced in 2022, is a state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary tourist destination located in the eastern part of Samarkand. Covering an expansive 280 hectares, this vast area features world-class accommodations, extensive public spaces, boutique hotels integrated with various health centers, a wide range of dining and relaxation options, and a significant congress hall suitable for international events.

There is also a historical and ethnographic park “Eternal City” opened as an integral part of this tourist complex  Located just 9 kilometers from the city center, this expansive park features a stunning eastern “city” that showcases not mere replicas of original buildings and monuments, but rather an architectural style that reflects nearly all regions of Uzbekistan. Visitors can also explore reconstructions of historical landmarks that have not survived to the present day, such as the Sogdian fortress and Ulugh Beg’s observatory.

As you stroll through the charming streets of this recreated city, you will encounter artisan workshops, a library, a puppet theater, as well as various relaxation zones, cafes, and restaurants. The workshops are home to over 100 skilled artisans, including potters, blacksmiths, engravers, carvers, embroiderers, weavers, jewelers, and miniature painters, providing visitors with the opportunity to witness their craftsmanship firsthand and purchase unique handmade items.

One highlight of the park is an authentic historical costume workshop, featuring a magnificent collection of replica garments from various historical epochs. The city also boasts traditional tandirs, where delicious samsa and flatbreads are baked, alongside an Uzbek chaikhana that serves national dishes from all regions of Uzbekistan. Additionally, a specialty shop offers tastings of wines from ten different regions of the country, allowing guests to savor the diverse flavors of Uzbek viticulture.

Surrounded on all sides by a serene water canal, access to the Eternal City is granted via two beautifully designed bridges, enhancing the enchanting atmosphere of this cultural oasis.
