Silk Road Samarkand Tourist Complex

The «Silk Road Samarkand» Tourist Complex, introduced in 2022, is a state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary tourist destination located in the eastern part of Samarkand. Covering an expansive 280 hectares, this vast area features world-class accommodations, extensive public spaces, boutique hotels integrated with various health centers, a wide range of dining and relaxation options, and a significant congress hall suitable for international events.

The creation of «Silk Road Samarkand» was the result of a collaborative effort by designers, engineers, and architects. Their goal was to create a modern attraction in Samarkand that not only stood out in terms of scale and modernity but also resonated with the city’s rich historical heritage. Historically, Samarkand was a crucial stop along the famous Great Silk Road, attracting merchants, explorers, and travelers. Today, this tourist complex aims to captivate business professionals, travelers, and enthusiasts of Eastern culture.

A standout feature of the «Silk Road Samarkand» complex is its impressive 2 km long rowing channel, which divides the area into northern and southern sections. This expansive water feature enhances the spatial aesthetics and provides a cooling effect, a much-needed relief in Uzbekistan’s warm climate. Interestingly, this man-made channel has served as a practice ground for Uzbek athletes for years. It continues to fulfill this role within the tourist center, allowing guests to enjoy the sight of boats and kayaks gliding by. For a closer view, tourists can hop onto one of the nine boats available for canal tours.

The northern section of the complex houses an international congress hall along with four hotels: the five-star Samarkand Regency Amir Temur and Silk Road by Minyoun, and the four-star Savitsky Plaza and Stars of Ulugbek. These establishments come complete with eateries, bars, fitness centers, pools, and of course, conference spaces. For larger occasions, the Congress Hall is equipped to host up to 3500 attendees, complete with a banquet hall for 750 and several adaptable conference rooms.

Conversely, the southern portion is designated for relaxation and therapeutic treatments. Here, visitors will find four specialized hotels focusing on areas such as preventive care, detoxification, pulmonology, and treatments for the spine and joints. Integrated health centers within these hotels offer a plethora of treatments, ranging from massages and therapeutic showers to saunas, baro-chambers, mud therapies, and more. Guests can opt for treatments spanning anywhere from a week to two.

Further enriching the southern zone is an eco-village featuring quaint cottages for a more private experience and the «Eternal City,» a historical and ethnographic project teeming with craft workshops, narrow alleyways, storefronts, and other facets reflective of an Eastern city.

Thanks to its opulent hotels, comprehensive tourist facilities, and scenic landscapes, the «Silk Road Samarkand» is swiftly emerging as a focal point of modern tourism in Samarkand. Furthermore, accessibility is a breeze. It’s a mere 15-minute drive from the international airport, 20 minutes from downtown, and 25 minutes from the train station. Plus, regular shuttle services ensure that reaching this tourist hub is hassle-free for all visitors.

The «Silk Road Samarkand» Tourist Complex offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the rich culture and history of Samarkand while enjoying world-class amenities and services. Whether you are a business professional, a traveler, or an enthusiast of Eastern culture, this complex promises an unforgettable experience.
