As a result of scientific studies that began in the mid-19th century, it was revealed that the mineralized alkaline water from the Daryadag spring contains a high concentration of salts and possesses a uniquely healing effect.
Although the springs themselves were discovered as early as the 15th century, no health resorts existed in the area until the mid-20th century. The first treatment facility was established here only in 1978, initially equipped with just five baths. Later, in 2005, two additional buildings were constructed, enabling the facility to accommodate approximately 25 to 30 patients simultaneously.
Interestingly, the temperature of the water at the spring reaches 52°C, yet in the therapeutic baths it is carefully maintained between 37 and 41°C. Bathing in these waters, which contain the rare natural element arsenic, aids in the treatment of rheumatism, skin conditions (such as scabies, jaundice, and pyoderma), nervous system disorders, and musculoskeletal diseases. Thanks to these distinctive properties, the arsenic-rich waters of Daryadag are considered truly exceptional—not only in the Caucasus but throughout the world.
