Good afternoon. I’m flying to Armenia for the first time and want to see the beauty of the country’s mountains… so far I’ve only found information about Tatev Monastery. Could you suggest some additional destinations?

It’s very beautiful in Tatev Monastery. You can plan a route to Tatev (the monastery and the cable car Wings of Tatev) through Khor Virap. On the way there will be a “stork village” (if you start from Yerevan) — I recommend making a short stop there if you take an individual tour with a guide. Then you can stop at Noravank Monastery and after that continue to Tatev.

On the way you can also stop in Goris and Khndzoresk Cave Village — a cave village (there is also a suspension bridge there), although I can’t really judge how demanding such a route would be for you Smile

With the road back it will turn out to be a very насыщенный (packed) trip, just enough for a full day. You will see Mount Ararat, magnificent views, mountains, and the monasteries of Armenia.

But it’s better to come to Khor Virap in the morning — at that time there’s a higher chance of seeing Ararat and its snowy caps.

Well, if you want to see Mount Ararat and do it all in one day, then go to Khor Virap, Noravank Monastery and Tatev Monastery. At Noravank there are red mountains — it’s very beautiful there.
