I’m planning to come soon and spend some time walking different trekking routes — things like Bukreev Peak, Furmanov Peak, the waterfalls, etc. One-day routes.
Could you please tell me whether these routes can currently be done in regular trail-running shoes rather than hiking boots, and whether trekking poles are absolutely necessary?
If they are needed, is there somewhere I can rent them locally, or would I have to buy them somewhere, like Decathlon? I don’t really want to drag extra stuff with me on holiday.
You can rent everything here. You can do these routes in training shoes. You can go without poles, but the strain on your knees will be greater. I don’t recommend it.
As for the weather — today it was still close to 30°C in the sun. I don’t know whether it will stay like this, but so far the warm weather hasn’t ended)
For the routes you mentioned above, trail-running shoes are enough until November. After that, you’ll need boots and crampons.
The routes are accessible year-round.
Trekking poles are highly recommended.

In the city, of course. There are plenty of places. Once you arrive, you can find the nearest one to you through 2GIS.
There definitely aren’t any near the trailheads. You can also buy some inexpensive ones at Decathlon and then leave them behind afterwards.
