Hello everyone,
Can you recommend some yurt camps or jailoos in Kyrgyzstan? Preferably in the mountains, with great views and one-day trekking options nearby. Bonus points if there’s mobile internet coverage!

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

In summer, the Suusamyr Valley has plenty of yurts to stay in. The views are stunning, the air is crisp, and the mountains are majestic. It’s high-altitude terrain, so the vegetation is mostly grass. Mobile internet works there.

On the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, you’ll find yurts in the Jeti-Oguz and Barskoon gorges. Internet coverage depends on proximity to the main road—the further you go, the weaker the signal. Great spots for trekking, though!

At Song-Kul Lake, there are lots of yurt camps. The landscape is breathtaking, and it’s another high-altitude location. However, mobile connectivity isn’t great—there’s only a signal at the top of one of the nearby mountains.

Thanks! Any tips on how to get there? From what I understand, you need to hitch rides on the road to Osh?
And how can I arrange something in advance? I don’t want to show up and find nothing there...

As far as I know, there’s no public transport to Suusamyr.

However, you can likely catch a shared taxi heading in that direction from the bus station. Just be aware that getting back could be trickier—you might need to hitchhike for the return trip.
