Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Khiva and was wondering if anyone has recently visited the Islam Khodja Minaret. Is it open for climbing? I’d love to hear from someone who’s been there recently. Thanks in advance!
I visited Khiva last year, and yes, the Islam Khodja Minaret is open to visitors. It’s accessible from 8 AM to 6 PM, and during the summer months, it stays open until 7:30 PM. Just a heads-up—there’s a separate ticket for the minaret, which cost 100,000 soum for foreigners when I was there.
Also, if you’re planning to explore the city walls, they require a separate ticket of 20,000 soum. For all the other attractions like madrasas, mosques, and historical sites, there’s a comprehensive ticket that costs 200,000 soum per adult. It’s a great deal if you want to see everything Khiva has to offer!
Let me know if you have any other questions—I’d be happy to help. Safe travels!
I was in Khiva just a few months ago, and I can confirm that the Islam Khodja Minaret is open for climbing. The views from the top are absolutely stunning—definitely worth the climb! The ticket prices mentioned by Manuela are still accurate, so plan accordingly.
Try to visit the minaret early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds and the heat. It’s a bit of a climb, but the experience is unforgettable. Enjoy your trip!
