Well, a small part of the Karakum Desert does exist in Uzbekistan too, but you won’t manage it in one day — you’d have to drive about 500 km one way. Instead, go to Tudakul, the Kuymazar Reservoir, Dengizkul (it’s far). There you’ll find lakes and the Kyzylkum Desert nearby.
