I highly recommend visiting the Silk Carpet Factory (12a Djami Street).
We came here on the recommendation of our guide — took a taxi ourselves.
A factory employee welcomed us and gave us a very interesting free tour.
They showed us the whole process — from silkworm cocoons and dyes to the weaving looms. We even got to try tying the tiny knots ourselves 🫣. The silk carpets are absolutely stunning.
Afterward, we visited the shop where they sell scarves, clothing, and carpets. We didn’t buy anything, and they said goodbye very kindly, inviting us to come again.
Everything was incredibly hospitable — no pushy sales at all.

I’d recommend going on a weekday or not during lunchtime Smile We arrived at 11 a.m., and many women were working at the looms — it was fascinating to watch them and even try it ourselves. Later, we went to look at the carpets and visit the store, but when I came back upstairs around 12:15 to take more photos of the looms, the workshop was empty — the women had gone for lunch, and tourists were only shown the looms and told about the process in words.
