Good evening everyone.
My mini vacation in Yerevan is coming to an end, and here’s what I want to say and recommend, since it was my first time. I read a lot of reviews in this group about where to eat, where to stay, where to go and what to visit, so here it goes:
Cafés: Ost, Kavkazskaya Plennitsa, Two Lagmadjo Tavern, Art Lunch cafeterias (there are several around the city), Family House.
The hotel was Opera Avenue near the Yerevan Opera Theater. If you just need a place to sleep, then the price and quality of service are simply excellent. The hotel is in the basement, there are windows, everything is quite clean and cozy.
We went on a tour at the “Noy” factory — well, not bad for our 1,000 rubles (~$10–11), for a tasting of two cognacs and a fortified wine. No need to book in advance, we just came to the main entrance at the scheduled time — tours start at 12, 15, and 17.
We also took a walking tour around Yerevan — overall not bad, probably depends on the guide. You can walk and listen for 2.5 hours, costs about 2,000 rubles (~$20–22).
We went to the Tatev cable car, plus a waterfall, monastery, and winery — a lot of driving along serpentine roads, not much walking. The cable car is great, closed cabin, very beautiful.
Overall, I’d say Yerevan left a great impression. Armenians are friendly and helpful, and you can see it’s genuine.
If you asked whether I’d come again — definitely yes 😉
Prices are pleasant for Russians, and the food is delicious 👍
And the most important thing is your mood.
