Hi everyone,
I’ll be arriving in Dushanbe soon and wanted to know if it’s possible to get a SIM card at the airport. I’ll only be in Tajikistan for a few days, so I’d love some recommendations on which provider to choose for a short-term plan. Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
Hi regaliuslatinus,
Unfortunately, Dushanbe Airport doesn’t have any kiosks or shops for buying SIM cards at the moment. Your best bet is to head into the city center, where you’ll find several options. I recommend Beeline or Tcell for reliable coverage, especially if you’re planning to explore outside Dushanbe. They both offer short-term packages for tourists.
Make sure you have your passport with you when purchasing a SIM, as it’s required for registration.
Hi there,
I just came back from Dushanbe last week. Shaman is absolutely right—no SIM cards at the airport. However, you’ll find kiosks for Tcell, Beeline, and Babilon in most shopping malls and around Rudaki Avenue in the city.
For a stay of less than a week, I’d suggest Tcell’s tourist packages. They’re affordable and include plenty of data, which was handy for navigating the city and keeping in touch with folks back home.
If you plan to use a lot of internet or travel outside Dushanbe, go for Tcell. Their network is the most reliable in rural areas, although Beeline is also good within the city. Babilon tends to be cheaper but doesn’t always have the best coverage.
