Has anyone recently traveled between Tashkent and Bishkek (or even Osh) and back? What’s the current situation with ground transportation?

I’m planning a trip to Bishkek, but flying isn’t the most budget-friendly option. Looking into bus alternatives—any tips?

If you’re heading to Osh, you could take a train to Andijan, and from there, hop on a minibus straight to the border. From Osh, you can either take a shared taxi or catch an affordable flight to Bishkek. That’s probably the easiest route.

Hello! Can someone advise how many days in advance tickets for the Tashkent-Bishkek bus need to be purchased? Also, how long does the trip take, including the border crossing?

Honestly, taking a bus from Tashkent isn’t the most efficient choice—you’ll just waste a ton of time. A better option is crossing the Chernyaevka border on foot and continuing your journey from there. It’s quicker and less hassle.

Last summer, the buses from Bishkek to Tashkent used to leave from the Western Bus Terminal at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. However, the terminal was relocated in the fall, so I can’t confirm whether the timing or frequency of these routes has changed since then. Would be good to double-check if you’re planning to use the buses.
