Does anyone know where buses from Bishkek to Tashkent currently depart? I heard that the West Bus Station (Zapadny Avtovokzal), which used to operate these routes, has been closed. If so, where have the departures been relocated?

That’s correct, the West Bus Station was permanently closed on October 23, 2024. All routes previously operated from there now depart from the new Bishkek Bus Terminal (MP "Bishkeksky Avtovokzal"), located at 1/1 Alma-Atinskaya Street. This station now handles international, intercity, regional, and suburban routes.
Here’s the exact location on Google Maps.

To get to the new bus station, you can use the following public transport:

  • Municipal buses: No. 13 and No. 34
  • Minibuses (marshrutkas): No. 123 and No. 128

The Bishkek to Tashkent bus route is still operational, with the following details:

  • Departure Time: 7:00 PM (evening)
  • Travel Duration: Approximately 9 hours
  • Fare: Around 2700 KGS (~$30 USD)

Please note that tickets for international departures must be purchased in advance. Online booking is currently unavailable, so you’ll need to buy them at the bus station itself.

For those traveling to Osh, Batken, Jalal-Abad, or Talas, the departures have been temporarily moved to the "Ak-Kula" Hippodrome area in the western part of Bishkek. This is because a new terminal is under construction at this location.
You can reach the "Ak-Kula" Hippodrome using:

  • Buses: No. 13 and No. 40
  • Minibus (marshrutka): No. 258
