Good afternoon!
Could you please tell me how to understand whether they are offering a natural silk scarf? At the market in Samarkand they assure me that for 120,000 soums it’s real. At the same time, synthetic ones in the same shop are also 120,000 soums. And as soon as you start to leave, they reduce the price even more.
Most likely it’s not natural. Usually silk is mixed with synthetics in a proportion of a lot of synthetic and a little silk. And to check natural silk — burn a few threads and evaluate the smell. If there is a smell of burnt wool and feathers, then it’s silk, but the smell of burnt acetate fibers will be different and more chemical.
If it smells like burnt wool then it’s silk, if it smells like something else then it’s fake. They tried to rip us off in 2025. You have to check everything, there’s plenty of deception there.
Yes. But I’m more interested in the price. No one at the bazaar named a high price…
Ozon and Wildberries will help you — the same thing but twice cheaper. In general, they called me a devil out of a snuffbox and counted everything up to 4,800,000, we ended up paying 600,000 sum.
You paid 600,000. To me that sounds more like a realistic quality price. It’s just that everywhere it’s 120,000 soums, plus a discount if you “turn your nose up”.
Bargain or buy somewhere else. There is silk production in Uzbekistan, we just didn’t get there ourselves — didn’t have enough time.
That’s what I mean — 120,000 soums is very cheap. And with a discount it becomes even cheaper. No one offered a high price at the market. That’s what confuses me. So I don’t understand.
