On February 5, 2025, the "Gisht-Kuprik" – "Zhibek Zholy" (Chernyayevka) border checkpoint will be temporarily closed for four months for the passage of individuals and vehicles.

In light of this, pedestrian, passenger vehicle, and bus crossings are advised to be rerouted through the "Zangiata" (Uzbekistan) and "Kaplanbek" (Kazakhstan) checkpoints, which reopened on January 28, 2025, following modernization. However, restrictions remain in place for cargo transport at these points.

The alternative Kaplanbek checkpoint is approximately 20 km from "Zhibek Zholy", and 115 km from Shymkent, with a travel time of about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

🚧 Starting February 1, two border crossing points between Kazakhstan and Russia will be temporarily closed. This affects the "Orsk" and "Mashtakovo" crossing points in the Orenburg region, as reported on the Rosgranstroy website.

The reason for the closure is the planned repairs of the adjacent crossing points "Alimbet" and "Syrym." According to the Kazakh side, the reconstruction work will take 16 months.

It is worth noting that citizens of Tajikistan also used these checkpoints to cross the border, as well as goods in and out of the republic(s).

Rosgranstroy has advised drivers, when planning to cross the Russian-Kazakh state border, to consider alternative routes through the following crossing points:

🔺 "Ilek" (only for citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan)
🔺 "Teploe" (only for citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan)
🔺 "Svetly"
🔺 "Sagarchin"

Good morning everyone!

I ask for more information if anyone updates about this border and this article that I mention below.

Tazhen border crossing between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan closes for three months for reconstructionThe Tazhen border crossing point on the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border will be closed for three months starting from February 1, 2025, for reconstruction, the press service of the Mangistau regional department of state revenues reported."The closure, agreed upon with Uzbekistan, will suspend the movement of individuals and vehicles, including passenger cars, buses, and freight vehicles with a load capacity below 3.5 tonnes, to allow for major repairs of the terminal and the overall modernization of the checkpoint," according to the statement.During the closure, crossings will be redirected to alternative points, including Konyspayev (Kazakhstan) - Yallama (Uzbekistan), Kaplanbek (Kazakhstan) - Zangiota (Uzbekistan), Syrdarya (Kazakhstan) - Malik (Uzbekistan), and Tselinny (Kazakhstan) - Ok Oltin (Uzbekistan).Additionally, due to the proximity of the Tazhen checkpoint to the Beineu railway station, passengers may cross the border using international passenger trains. There is a compatriot there who has spoken to some locals and it seems that there is no official news of when the border will reopen except for a "maybe in September"

Do you have any more news?

I should be there by mid-August. In case I don't know if I can go from Turkmenistan which is also changing the mode of access simplifying it or from Iran but I don't have the faintest idea of what it means to pass through here.

Thank you very much

@clod We have just checked with authorities, Daut Ata crossing is still closed for all but heavy truck vehicles. They can't confirm the fixed date when it will be fully open and return to operation for everyone else.
