Nestled in the heart of Mangystau’s breathtaking landscapes, the «Kogez» Ethno-Village has been welcoming visitors since 2017. This unique yurt-based camping experience has rapidly grown in popularity and offers an exciting array of activities for even the most seasoned travelers.
So, what can foreign tourists or curious locals do at «Kogez»? The ethno-village offers a variety of workshops focused on the traditions and lifestyle of nomads, along with the organization of events featuring traditional Kazakh dances and songs. The village consists of about 15 yurts set in the foothills, offering basic amenities like air conditioning. For those seeking a more conventional stay, there are also rooms available in the main administrative building. Visitors will learn more about the yurt, a portable nomadic dwelling made entirely from natural materials such as wood, felt, wool, and leather. You’ll even have the chance to help assemble one if you wish!
At the village’s ethnic complex, traditional Kazakh and European dishes are served at a cafe with a spacious summer terrace. You can take part in cooking classes or try your hand at arts and crafts. One of the highlights of any visit is witnessing a stunning eagle hunting demonstration, a mesmerizing spectacle rooted in ancient traditions. And, of course, you won’t want to miss the thrilling horse-riding competitions, a hallmark of Kazakh culture. During the summer, the outdoor pool opens, while spring and autumn are perfect for horseback riding, hiking, or cycling tours. The surrounding area is rich with historical landmarks, fascinating mountain formations, and cliffs. We also offer several tours around the mysterious lands of Mangystau that are guaranteed to leave you enchanted.
The ethno-village features a charming garden filled with fruit trees, conifers, and decorative plants. Scattered among them are gazebos, a small artificial pond, and a fountain where you can relax, especially during hot weather.
«Kogez» is also an ideal venue for various events such as team-building activities, workshops, training sessions, weddings, and sports competitions. And the best part? Everything will be professionally organized for you.
A trip to «Kogez» Ethno-Village promises unforgettable memories of the hospitality and rich, and perhaps even exotic, culture of Kazakhstan.
