The National Emblem of Kyrgyzstan, officially adopted on January 14, 1994, stands as a significant national symbol of the republic. At the center of the emblem is the image of Ak-Shumkar, a falcon with outstretched wings, also known as Manas’s falcon. This powerful bird symbolizes the freedom of the state, embodying the values of generosity, vigilance, and the high aspirations of the Kyrgyz people, who inhabit the land of majestic mountains.
The emblem also features a depiction of Lake Issyk-Kul, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most cherished natural treasures, cradled by the towering peaks of the Ala-Too mountain range. The serene surface of the lake represents the beauty of nature, serving as a source of life and energy for the nation. The sunlit mountains surrounding the lake evoke the shape of the Kyrgyz national hat, the kalpak, further highlighting the emblem’s deep connection to Kyrgyz tradition and culture.
