Citizens of certain countries are required to register at local police stations (OVIR/OVD) within 5 days of their arrival, including weekends and the day of arrival. This registration can be arranged as an additional service. Generally, travelers from countries that require a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan must complete registration within this timeframe. Failure to do so can lead to a fine of 10,000 som, and border officials will prevent you from leaving the country until the fine is paid, potentially causing missed flights and additional costs.
An exception is Uzbekistan, whose citizens do not need a visa but are still required to register.
Certain regions in Kyrgyzstan require special permits for access or passage, particularly those near the Chinese border in Issyk-Kul and Naryn Provinces. Shahina Travel is not responsible for activities involving alpinism or adventure sports in these areas. Therefore, we only issue border permits for light treks and guided tours. Traveling to these regions without the necessary permits can be risky and may lead to serious legal consequences with the Kyrgyz authorities. The areas requiring permits include Karkyra, Inylchek, the regions around Pobeda Peak and Khan Tengri, Kel-Suu, At-Bashi, Ak-Sai, Peak Lenin, and the vicinity of Torugart.
