Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy some leisure time to relax before the next day’s exciting discoveries.

Day 2: After breakfast, a local guide will accompany you on a full-day tour of Samarkand’s iconic landmarks. Stand in awe of the impressive Registan Square, with its three stunning madrassas; marvel at the architectural splendor of the Bibi Khanum Mosque, once one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world. Itinerary

Day 1Shymkent – Tashkent – Samarkand

08:00 AM – Meet at the border
Upon arrival at the Chernyaevka border point between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, you will be greeted by your driver who will assist you throughout your journey. The border crossing can take a little time, so make sure to have your documents ready for a smooth transition.

09:30 AM – Transfer to a local restaurant for lunch
After crossing the border, you will head to a local restaurant for a traditional Uzbek lunch. This is the perfect opportunity to sample local dishes such as plov (Uzbek rice pilaf), shashlik (grilled meat), and fresh bread. Enjoy the flavors and get ready for the journey ahead.

11:00 AM – Drive to Samarkand
Following lunch, the drive from Tashkent to Samarkand will begin. The road trip spans about 280 kilometers and will take approximately 4 hours (with slight variation depending on the mode of transportation). The landscape offers beautiful views of Uzbekistan’s countryside, giving you a chance to see the contrasts of desert, fields, and small towns along the way.

Day 2Samarkand Sightseeing – Tashkent – Shymkent

09:00 AM – Visit Gur-Emir Mausoleum
Start your day with a visit to the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the tomb of the famed Timur (Tamerlane), the great Central Asian conqueror. This stunning structure, built in the 15th century, showcases beautiful Islamic architecture with its intricate tile work and blue dome.

10:00 AM – Explore Registan Square
Next, head to Registan Square, the heart of Samarkand. This architectural masterpiece is a grand complex of three madrassas (Islamic schools) dating back to the 15th and 17th centuries.
