Enjoy breathtaking countryside views, rich history, and traditional Georgian hospitality—all in one enriching day just outside Tbilisi.

Your journey begins in the morning as your guide and driver greet you at your hotel in Tbilisi. Depart the bustling city and travel west toward the Kartli region, a historic cradle of Georgian wine culture.

Your first stop is the peaceful Shiomgvime Monastery, nestled in the hills near the ancient city of Mtskheta. Founded in the 6th century by the monk Shio, a disciple of Saint David Garejeli, this spiritual site holds centuries of monastic history. Wander through its serene courtyards, take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, and learn about the austere daily lives of Georgian monks both past and present.

Continue your drive through the idyllic Georgian countryside, passing through picturesque villages where traditional ways of life endure. Arrive in Igoeti, a small village home to Ori Marani Wines, a boutique winery founded by a French winemaker. Discover how Ori Marani fuses ancient Georgian qvevri winemaking techniques with refined French craftsmanship to create exceptional natural wines. Enjoy a guided tour of the cellar and taste a selection of their unique blends.

Next, travel to Kaspi, another important wine-producing area in Kartli. Here, you’ll visit the family-owned Merebashvili Marani, a welcoming wine cellar known for preserving pure Kartlian winemaking traditions. Walk through their vineyard and cellar, learn about their use of traditional clay vessels (qvevri), and savor a guided tasting of their finest vintages. A delicious homemade Georgian lunch with local flavors will accompany your visit, offering a true taste of rural hospitality.

In the late afternoon, return to Tbilisi with a heart full of memories and a deeper appreciation for Georgian wine and culture.
