Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Samarkand to the yurt camp, where you’ll settle in and embark on a leisurely hike to witness panoramic views of the Nurata Mountains and the stunning Aydarkul Lake. The next day, enjoy a visit to Aydarkul Lake, a vital ecosystem teeming with diverse birdlife, before exploring the historical ruins of Nurata, believed to be established by Alexander the Great.

Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM as you depart from Samarkand for the enchanting Sayyod Yurt Camp, nestled in the breathtaking Nuratau Mountains. The journey will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, covering a distance of around 170 kilometers.
Upon arrival at the yurt camp around noon, you will be welcomed into one of the 11 traditionally adorned yurts, each accommodating between 2 to 4 beds depending on its size. The camp is equipped with modern amenities including a restaurant, an ablution block featuring showers and toilets, and an outdoor swimming pool for your relaxation.
After enjoying a hearty lunch, prepare for an easy yet rewarding 3-hour hike covering 6 kilometers. This trek will lead you through the stunning landscapes of the Nuratau Mountains, offering distant views of the picturesque Lake Aydarkul. Starting from the camp, you will gradually ascend through the valley, eventually reaching the highest point of the hike. Here, you will be treated to panoramic vistas of the surrounding villages and the shimmering lake. The return journey will take a different path, allowing you to experience the scenery from a new perspective.
In the evening, after a delightful dinner, unwind around the swimming pool or gather around a campfire to share stories and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains.
Following an early breakfast, embark on a full-day hiking adventure to the majestic mountain plateau, covering a distance of 15 kilometers over approximately 7 hours. Your hike will commence as you traverse the valley, steadily making your way up to the expansive plateau. Once on the plateau, you will continue your exploration before descending into the lush green valley below.
Throughout the hike, you will be captivated by the stunning scenery, including views of the vast Kyzyl-Kum steppe, the shimmering Lake Aydarkul, and the quaint villages situated on the opposite side of the Nuratau Mountains.
During your trek, a picnic lunch will be provided, allowing you to refuel amidst the beauty of nature. Upon returning to the yurt camp, you can conclude your hiking experience. If you wish to extend your adventure, consider exploring the nearby village of Sayyod. The local residents primarily engage in livestock farming and cultivate numerous vineyards and walnut trees. If your visit coincides with May, you might even have the opportunity to visit local homes where families rear silkworms, experiencing a unique aspect of village life.
On the final day, at 10:30 AM, you will transfer to the stunning Lake Aydarkul, a scenic 40-minute drive from the yurt camp. This expansive lake, along with the adjacent Tuzkan wetlands, serves as a vital habitat for an array of bird species, making it an important breeding, resting, and wintering ground for over a hundred different types of birds.
Upon arrival at the lake, you will have the opportunity to stroll along the shores, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the area. Depending on the weather, you may also take a refreshing swim in the lake. A picnic lunch will be provided during your time at the lake, allowing you to enjoy a meal with a view.
After lunch, you will transfer to Bukhara, stopping en route for a sightseeing excursion in Nurata. Here, you will visit the ruins of an ancient fort believed to have been constructed by Alexander the Great, as well as a sacred spring and local pilgrimage site that are conveniently located nearby. After completing your sightseeing tour, you will continue your journey to Bukhara.
You are expected to arrive in Bukhara by approximately 6 PM, concluding your memorable tour filled with stunning landscapes, cultural experiences, and unforgettable adventures in the heart of Uzbekistan.

The camp features restrooms with sinks, showers, and toilets. Another highlight of the camp is the outdoor pool, operational from mid-April to mid-October. Next to the pool, there is a barbecue area.
Meals in the yurt camp are served in a spacious restaurant on the premises, which also has a bar. Breakfast is served buffet-style, while lunch and dinner feature national dishes such as manti, chuchvara, pilaf, dimlama, shurpa, mastava, and more. A wide selection of vegetarian dishes is available upon request. The restaurant is mainly used in spring and late autumn, while in summer, lunches and dinners are served on an outdoor terrace nearby.
The restaurant seats 60 people. There is also a kitchen where we hold masterclasses on preparing national dishes. Every morning, guests can observe the baking of bread in a traditional tandyr.

A few minutes’ walk from the yurts is a restroom and shower block with eight showers and six toilets, equipped with separate male and female facilities. Here, you will find hair dryers, mirrors, and there is always plenty of hot water. Convenient sinks for handwashing are located at the entrance to the block. The facility is heated, ensuring comfort even on cool autumn days.
Our yurt camp, located in the picturesque Nurata Mountains, offers excellent hiking opportunities. We have developed routes of varying difficulty and duration, allowing you to enjoy the stunning views of these unique mountain landscapes. You can hike independently using maps and routes provided at the camp. However, for longer and more challenging routes, we recommend hiring an experienced guide, as there are no signposts in the mountains.
