Standing proudly at 185 meters, the Constitution Monument of Turkmenistan is the second tallest building in the country. Erected between 2008 and 2011 by the Turkish company Polimeks, this monument is a testament to the nation’s architectural ambition and cultural pride.
In terms of architectural design and aesthetic choices, the Constitution Monument follows a traditional and symbolic approach. The structure is predominantly clad in white marble, adorned with the eight-pointed stars of Oghuz Khan, and decorated with national carpet motifs, known as «göy,» representing the country’s regions. The monument also features fountains and a crescent moon with stars, which are recurring elements in Turkmen architecture.
One notable aspect of the monument is its architectural detailing, which includes charming peace doves positioned around the structure on all four sides. These elements add a unique touch to the otherwise classic design.
