Charvak Lake, a colossal artificial reservoir located amidst the lush, green mountain slopes topped with pristine snow caps. This expansive lake owes its existence to the Charvak Hydroelectric Power Station (HPS) dam and is replenished by the waters of the Ugam, Chatkal, and Pskem rivers, which meander through the mountains.
The area was once a cradle of ancient life, with settlements, fortresses, and burial mounds that have stood the test of time. More than 150 monuments of ancient culture have been discovered, offering a window into a time when this region was a bustling thoroughfare connecting the Tashkent oasis with the distant lands of Kyrgyzstan and Ferghana.
In the present day, Charvak Lake is a beloved summer destination for both locals of Tashkent and visitors. The lake, a shimmering blue jewel cradled by mountain ridges, has evolved into a vibrant resort. A scenic ring road winds along the mountain slopes, leading to an array of recreational areas and children’s camps situated near the quaint villages of Bogustan, Brichmulla, Yangikurgan, and Yusuphana.
The most prominent among these is «Charvak Oromgohi,» located close to the village of Yusuphana. Here, the Charvak shoreline has been transformed into an inviting beach, complete with the luxurious «Pyramid» hotel. Guests are welcomed with comfortable accommodations, diverse dining options, bars, and a conference hall. The hotel’s architecture, with its pointed green roofs and solar panels, echoes the majestic mountain peaks that surround it.
Visitors to Charvak Lake can expect modern amenities that meet the highest standards. The beaches are well-maintained, and the area is equipped with sports facilities and playgrounds. For those seeking adventure on the water, there is a landing area for windsurfing and catamaran rides.
