The Old City – Icherisheher: mosques, minarets, the remains of the caravanserais “Multani” and “Bukhara,” ancient bathhouses, etc.
– The Palace of the Shirvanshahs.
– The Maiden Tower.
– A walk through the Philharmonic Garden.
– The Carpet Museum.
– Mini Venice.
– Highland Park, with a panoramic view of the city and Baku Bay.
– The Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center.

Today my husband and I visited the Heydar Aliyev Center and saw the exhibitions currently on display there. We really enjoyed the doll exhibition. I recommend it to everyone who has some free time for a walk.

Also try Shah Plov if you happen to be in Baku. This is really tasty and unique type of pilaf served only in Azerbaijan.
