Good evening! I’m asking for advice:
If we go from Tbilisi to Mtskheta in the morning, will we have time to see everything there and then continue further?
Maybe it’s better to stay overnight in Mtskheta and head out in the morning?
Or can Mtskheta be explored in half a day and then leave?

It depends on how thoroughly you want to explore and spend time there. If you’re only visiting the main tourist center, half a day is enough. If you plan to go up the mountain to the monastery and the ruins, then it’s better to allow at least 2 days for everything. And if you also want to walk around the small but very cozy churches nearby, around the cemetery and further along the road (it’s beautiful everywhere there), add at least another day.

Also, be sure to buy churchkhela from the vendor who makes it right there in a house nearby — it’s very tasty, on the square by Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.

And stop by to eat at Adacafe, a Georgian-Turkish cuisine restaurant on the riverbank — very tasty food, cozy atmosphere, and reasonable prices.

Mtskheta is very pleasant and beautiful.
