Hello! We are planning to arrive in Tashkent tomorrow. Could you please recommend an inexpensive bus tour? We are short on time and it’s a bit difficult to explore on our own.

Thank you in advance!

The red double-decker buses depart from the Uzbekistan Hotel and take you to the main attractions in the city. The ticket price per person is 200,000 som (around $15).

Could you tell me if there is an audio guide in Russian on the tourist bus?

Yes, there was one, and the headphones are disposable. This was a few years ago, but I think nothing has changed.

It runs tours every 2 hours, and the excursion lasts 2 hours. You can easily find this red double-decker London bus on Amir Timur square, right across from the Uzbekistan hotel.

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Daytime times: 10:00; 11:00; 12:00; 13:00; 14:00; 15:00; 16:00; 17:00.
You buy tickets right on the bus 15 minutes before your chosen time. No reservations for the scheduled buses.
The tour lasts 2 hours. Drop-offs at 7 places. (Tell the driver to make stops, or he might just cruise without them). Better to sit in the front seats by the windshield – best view. And there's AC up front.

Thanks a lot for all that info. Just one more question. Does it pass by all the significant places?

Most of them. But it doesn't go inside, just drives by along the route and you listen to an audio guide whose sound quality leaves a lot to be desired – overall, not the best intro to Tashkent. It's like tourist fast food. Dry, boring, but might work for a quick first look. Of course, it's way better and more comfortable to splurge on a full guide with their own car, but it'll be pricier for sure.
As for the bus the prices are:
Adult ticket - 200k sum. Child ticket (6-12 years) – 75k sum,
Kids from 0 to 6 years – free.
